Yayoi Kusama

If you like polka dots, you'll love Yayoi Kusama and want to rush out to see her exhibition 'Mirrored Years' currently on show at Sydney's MCA. In fact, you probably already have. But you might like to head back to the MCA for some Inspired Reading and join the MCA Book Club for a tour of the exhibition and a discussion of the Haruki Murakami international bestseller Kafka on the Shore.

Tuesday 31st March from 6 - 7:30pm
$10

Also look out for Kusama-san's own 1983 novel 'The Hustlers Grotto of Christopher Street' on sale in the MCA store.

Or if film is more your thing...you may like to attend the special screening of 'Yayoi Kusama - I Adore Myself'

Directed by Takako Matsumoto, the film follows Kusama over the duration of one-and-a-half years, and documents the creation of her series titled 'Love—Forever'.

Friday 27th March, 6pm

Eat Love & Three D Graphic Spaces

EAT LOVE

Eat Love is a gorgeous new book by eating-designer Marije Vogelzang and design studio Proef.

With it's sweet linear drawings, quirky photography and vibrant layout, Eat Love is a 'must have' book.

THREE D GRAPHIC SPACES

Edited by Gerrit Terstiege and with contributions by Steven Heller and Stefan Sagmeister, Three D Graphic Spaces is another new book you will want to add to your bookshelf.

The book has been inspired, and its content co-developed and designed, by Catrin Altenbrandt and Adrian Niessler, parters in the Pixelgarten design studio in Frankfurt.

(On a funny note, and if you are a graphic designer, I encourage you to watch this video)

Yokoo

I am in love with these super cute knits made my Yokoo. I am not quite sure how she finds the time to knit all of these pretty little things while posting daily to her Flickr Photostream but I guess the chunky knit helps. She sounds fun, off-beat and as uber-cool as she looks in her Etsy Featured Seller Interview and if still you want more, click here for a somewhat endless list of other blogs she has appeared on.

Love her hair. Love her logo. Love her.

I'm off now to add one of her pieces to my wish list...but in colours with names as cute as 'Sweet Pea Green' and 'Pumpkin' it's hard to pick just one. Sigh.

Todd Selby at Monster Children Gallery

One of my favourite photographers Todd Selby will be exhibiting at Monster Children Gallery in Sydney this week. Be sure to check it out! Todd's website, The Selby is a fantastic collection of photographs of interesting people and their creative spaces. I can't tell you how many of these pictures I have dragged onto my desktop for home inspiration. Todd is currently looking for amazing spaces in Sydney and Tokyo if you think your place is up to scratch!
