I was tagged by the lovely Windy Days to answer these questions.

What is your current obsession?
Blogging! Can't you tell! :)

What are you wearing now?
A black satin high waisted pouffy skirt, a multi coloured sequined blouse, magenta suede bow pumps, and hair in a ponytail.

Do you nap a lot?
I have been lately after a busy deadline however I usually never nap. I generally think of naps as a luxury although lately they have been more of a necessity.

If you were a tree, what tree would you be?
I would like to one of these trees carved into amazing shapes.

What's for dinner?
Tonight we had Temaki Japanese hand roll night. I guess it's like the Japanese equivalent of tacos. We make a platter of avocado, cucumber, lettuce, tuna, salmon, egg, rice, mayonnaise and wrap in nori. We eat this once a week.

What was the last thing you bought?
A blueberry bagel and a latte from Pigeon coffee this morning. My favourite way to start the day.

What are you listening to right now?
Bill Evans Trio.

What is your favorite weather?
Chilly January days in Tokyo. I love rugging up in a warm jacket, gloves and scarf and making daily trips to the local sento.

What is on your bedside table?
A pile of magazines including Korean Vogue Girl and Ryuko Tsushin, Japanese for Everyone language study book, When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris on loan to me by the lovely Zoe (eek I promise to finish over the Easter break!), an almost empty tin of Atrix hand cream, my favourite Mogitate Kajitsu White Peach lip balm, a glass of water, a photo frame of my boyfriend and I in Taipei last year, a few bobby pins and a polka dot hair elastic.

What is your most challenging goal right now?
To finish my thesis before August.

Say something to the person who tagged you.

What can’t you live without?
My family and friends, creativity, Dame Edna Coral Popyp lipstick by MAC, and my mac.

What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was Haruki Murakami's Kafka on The Shore. On Boxing Day I purchased a stack of books using a voucher given to me from my lovely Aunty Donna but I still haven't made my way through them: What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami, Naked by David Sedaris, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell, and Wild Ducks Flying Backward by Tom Robbins.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?

Distillate

Distillate is a fantastic new website which features the latest fashion, homewares, handcrafted goods, photography, art and recipes. Unlike many other sites, Distillate ensures that their national and international content can be shipped here to Australia. There is nothing more annoying than falling in love with something only to find you can't buy it!

Distillate has recently featured The Small Object (above) who I featured here.

I am loving so many things on Distillate such as these embroidery bowls from Industreal.

And these log bowls by Loyal Loot available from ReForm School. (cute website hey!)

And this wooden block game from Design Museum Shop which I fell in love with after seeing it here and here.

It's clear these Distillate kids have great taste! Worth a visit!

Hello Sandwich interview on Design for Mankind

Oh my goodness! I am so excited it's here! The absolutely divine Erin from Design for Mankind's latest issue of Design for Mankind Magazine is here.
Have I mentioned before just how gorgeous Erin is? If you don't believe me just watch this video and you can see for yourself.
I am not quite sure just how Erin fits it all in. In addition to her amazing blog which has over 8,000 hits a day, she also runs The Bakery, makes weekly videos for her blog, and yet responds to any email I send within minutes! Talk about super powers!

I was lucky enough to come into contact with Erin when she saw my work on The Design Files (thanks lovely Lucy!) and she kindly asked me to be in her magazine. I have been in 'e-love' as Erin would say, with her ever since! Attached are some spreads from my interview (click on them to magnify so you can read the text) and you can download the entire PDF magazine here. The issue is amazing! I promise you will love!

P.S. Here is some more info about Erin.
And be sure to bookmark Erin's blog!

Pecha Kucha

Pecha Kucha is Japanese for chit-chat and is a forum where young artists, designers and other creative types to meet, network and show their work in public. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds - giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.

Chalk Horse Gallery in Sydney's Surry Hills will host a Pecha Kucha event tonight. Click here for tonight's line up and more details.

I will be talking at the next Sydney Pecha Kucha night which takes place later in the year. Stay posted.

I hope to see you there tonight!
