Parco

How cute is the new Parcoala? It's the new little Koala mascot for Japanese store Parco. Click here to pat the Koala and change the pattern on his ears.

Also fun is the Parco CANpaign seen over at Shibuya 246 where customers had the chance to win some cute merchandise in a can. Oh, branding and advertising in Japan is the best! Where else can you get away with using five different fonts on the one layout?!

If you are heading over to Tokyo don't miss Parco Shibuya department store. And if you like books - you won't want to miss Libro Books which is on B1F level of Shibuya Parco Part 1. It's my second favourite bookshop in Tokyo after Nadiff. Eeep I can't wait to go to Tokyo next month.

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to 2010! It's going to be a wonderful year!

Growers Markets and Co-op Shopping

One of our 'I heart food' shopping bags from Isetan Food Market. Have you heard about Bagbusters Bagshare where community members can borrow a green bag from retailers and return next time they shop? (It's a good place to donate any unwanted reusable shopping bags - I'm not parting with my cute Isetan ones though!)

Inspired by my lovely friend Yumi at Dear Plastic, and in attempt to start 2010 with a health kick, I've started shopping at co-ops and growers markets.

On New Years Eve Mr Y and I took our polka-dot canisters (from my favourite Tokyo suburb Shimokita) and stocked up on yummy things like tamari almonds, blueberries and kombu from Alfalfa House Co-op.

And this morning we woke early to buy fruit and vegetables from the Growers Markets. Home by 9:30am and with bags full of healthy things like okra, it was such a lovely way to start the weekend.

Oh, and I treated myself to some sunny cottage-style flowers. All this for AUD$25! eeep!

P.S. Have you seen It Will Stop Raining? It's my absolute favourite food blog!

Beautiful images above from It Will Stop Raining.

A Lovely Little Beach Side Holiday

Hello Sandwiches! Happy Holidays! Mr Y and I just returned from a lovely little beach side holiday down on the South Coast. Dear Plastic came to visit too.

Our little private beach access track.

Eeeep! Some cute little bunnies!

On our way to Long Beach North.

This sweet roadside stall near Nowra sells the most gorgeous home grown Dahlia's! Sadly it was sold out on the day we drove past.

Vintage linen purchased at a local Culburra Garage Sale.

Owww I desperately wanted to steal this super cute memory game, or at least make drawings of every card. But, good karma to me, I did the right thing and left it in it's little holiday home for other guests to enjoy. sob sob. Dear Plastic and I had such a lovely time playing this one night.

I just loved this garden gnome installation I spied in a local window.

Oh! And sankaku triangle homes! How adorable! I want to live in a triangle house please!

Preferably a Tiffany blue beach side sankaku house please. What more could you ask for?

Perhaps a Tiffany blue mamachari bike to match! This one was spotted at the Berry Wood-fired Sourdough Bakery on the way back to Sydney. Such a great little cafe.Worth a stop over if you are in the area.

Bye bye beach side holiday. Miss you already.

Happy holidays sandwiches.

Hello Sandwich Potato Stamping

A few nights ago my Aunty Nin and I had a lovely Potato Stamping Evening at Hello Sandwich Headquarters. What a great evening it was! Potato stamping is so much fun - instant, effective and the stamping creates such oh-so-lovely textures. The finished products (to be used as gift wrapping) were rolled up and given as teeny tiny tokens to team members in my office.

Speaking of gift wrapping, did you see my guest blog entry over at Do's Family? It was such an honour to be with such amazing creative company and share some gift wrapping tips.

Happy Holidays Sandwiches.
