Hand painted wrapping paper

Hello Sandwiches!
When Pip mentioned she was hand painting some tissue paper for Christmas I thought it might be a nice idea to make some of my own hand painted Christmas wrapping paper.
I used a thin butchers paper and water colour paints - and added some glitter glue and spangles.
A lot of fun and cheap and cheerful.

End of Aki in Yoyogi koen

We just got back from a bike ride to Yoyogi koen to see the end of autumn colourful leaves. I'm not sure why I thought it was a great idea to leave my pompom beanie at home in 6 degree weather *actually it had something to do with a squashed odango* but it was prettttyyyyyy icy. I managed to keep my gloves off for long enough to take these few snaps.
Although chilly, autumn is such a lovely time in Tokyo. The crisp air. Crunchy leaves. Amazing afternoon light. Hokkairo packs. Hot green tea. And...NIKUMAN!

There's nothing better than a hot nikuman on the way home from a cold bike ride!

Eating nikuman outside the combini rockstar style. Love you Japan.
Now I really need some hot wain...

Ginza

Rainy, shiny and glistening in Ginza this afternoon. It's dark by about 4:30 these days. I really love winter in Tokyo. Seeing all of the Christmas illuminations around the city. Buying hot green tea from vending machines at train stations. Snuggling under pompom beanies. Cooking Nabe. Planning nengajo. I haven't cracked out the hokkairo packs yet but maybe it's about time. Ah, I wish I had a kotatsu.
