Inspired by a mt book I was kindly given at the Hello Sandwich mt tape workshop I made a little mt tape jar vase. It was so easy and a lot of fun! You might like to have fun making one too!
It might not come as a shock to you that I am in love with all things 'Stationery' in Tokyo. So it was a no-brainer when it came to creating a mini zine for the Sydney MCA Zine Fair this month!
The new Hello Sandwich Tokyo Stationery mini-zine / poster is a little A3 poster which folds into a A5 zine.
One side is fluoro orange gingham (It's actually a photograph of my fog linen luncheon mat) which you could use as cute wrapping paper!
You could also use the paper as a book cover!
And the other side contains the Hello Sandwich Tokyo Stationery Shop Guide and 3 x Stationery craft projects which I hope you will enjoy making!
The mini zine poster will be launched at the Sydney MCA Zine Fair on Sunday May 22nd (if my EMS package arrives in time - fingers crossed!) so I hope you can pop on down to the MCA and pick up a copy. My dear friend Beatrice will be minding the Hello Sandwich Tokyo Table booth as I won't be able to fly to Sydney for the event :(
Zine lovers in Tokyo will absolutely LOVE Shibuya's Only Free Paper store! It's a mini-me shop situated on Cat street where you can pick up many Japanese 'free papers'. They also have an archive of each of the free papers so you can take a seat on the bench and relax looking over the collection. Hiki-chan and I spent a lovely rainy afternoon there today getting inspiration for our MCA zine fair zines!
Which brings me to my other exciting zine news! Hello Sandwich will have a table at the MCA zine fair ! If you are in Sydney on the 22nd May, please pop in and look out for the Hello Sandwich Tokyo table which will also showcase some zines from Hello Sandwich Tokyo based zine making friends Hiki-chan, polkaros, Ben Davis , BOM, Sunshine to you, Mark Drew and lovely Yumi Takahashi who I shared a MCA zine fair table with last year. A super thank you to Miss Beatrice for minding our booth :)
A special thank you to the creative team at Uppercase and lovely Tommy for putting together this Hello Sandwich interview in Uppercase magazine. I received the PDF today! and the issue is on it's way in the post. I can't wait to see the issue, it looks like there are some fantastic articles in there. Thank you so much Uppercase for this lovely layout you have created :)
There is a little interview about my work history at VOGUE Living magazine over at Girl With A Satchel. If you've ever wondered what working at a magazine is like, you might find it interesting. By the way, have you seen the latest issue of VOGUE Living? There is a sneak peek here on the VOGUE Living blog.
